Welcome to the Heriverse Documentation

Heriverse – Heritage Science Metaverse – is a 3D online platform for the collection, management, and exploration of multimedial content for Heritage Science. Born as a “vertical pilot” within the Italian H2IOSC project, Heriverse combines three-dimensional exploration of objects and sites with a robust knowledge graph based on CIDOC-CRM.

Note

This platform has been developed as part of the PNRR Mission 4, Component 2, Investment line 3.1, project “Humanities and Cultural Heritage Italian Open Science Cloud – H2IOSC”.

Heriverse and the StratiVerse model

Heriverse is the public name of the platform — what users open in the browser, what is cited in non-technical contexts, what release notes refer to. StratiVerse is the underlying conceptual model: the position that every entity in a heritage scene is a spatio-temporal stratigraphic unit. The two names operate at different levels — like Google Search vs. PageRank. If you are reading this manual, you are using Heriverse; if you are writing a paper about the epistemology of the platform, the citation is to the StratiVerse model.

Quick Start

  • Explore scenes: Browse the public scene gallery and open any scene to explore it in 3D

  • Create content: Authenticate via Digilab and create your own scenes with knowledge graphs

  • Collaborate: Start collaborative sessions with voice chat and screen sharing

  • VR mode: Use a VR headset for immersive exploration
